Additional information

SURFACE PREPARATION:

The user shall
determine the suitability of the product for its intended
use and assumes all risk and liability whatsoever
in connection therewith. A test area should be
processed before beginning the overall project. Allow
the test area to dry thoroughly. Then test the ABR
Liquid Shield® for ease of removal. Glass should be
clean and dry and free of cuts, scrapes, oil, dirt or
other foreign materials prior to applying ABR Liquid
Shield®. Failure to remove any surface dirt or grease
will greatly reduce adhesion. Do not topcoat or cover
ABR Liquid Shield® with lacquers, primers or paints
containing ketones or alcohols. Do not topcoat with
alkyd or oil base paint unless thoroughly dry. Prime steel frames before topcoating with ABR Liquid
Shield®.

APPLICATION:

SPRAYING EQUIPMENT: Spray ABR Liquid Shield®
with a conventional, an airless or a HVLP sprayer,
testing sprayer before use. A conventional sprayer
should be set-up for use with a thick latex paint.
An airless sprayer should be used at approximately
2500 psi with a 411-513 tip. A HVLP sprayer should
be set-up for use with a thick latex paint, pressurize
the cup or pot if possible. When applying ABR Liquid
Shield® to a previously painted surface, follow the
recommended procedures: 1. Remove loose paint by
sanding or scraping. 2. If painted surface is glossy, use
sand paper or deglossing agent. 3. If painted surface
is chalky, wash the area with a scrub brush and water.
APPLICATION: 1. Mix ABR Liquid Shield® well before
use. Do not thin or mix with additives. 2. Apply a
coat 5-6 mils wet (2-4 mils dry) to the surface with
a synthetic brush or sprayer. Spray a light coat using
a horizontal path, then spray a light coat using a
vertical path. Immediately smooth out any running or
sagging if it occurs. 3. Allow material to fully dry on
the surface. See dry time below. 4. To remove ABR
Liquid Shield®, start at a corner and using a utility
knife, very carefully cut the mask taking care to not
cut or scrape the glass, then peel off the film. If ABR
Liquid Shield® does not peel off in one sheet, the film
is to thin. Apply a second coat of ABR Liquid Shield®
and allow too dry before removing.
