ABR® Stone & Marble Guard

A penetrating, stain resistant, water repellent sealer for polished and unpolished marble, granite, slate travertine, mosaics, onyx, and sandstone.
Can also be applied to paint, caulk, grout, EFIS (exterior insulation and finish systems), Dryvit^® or stucco and is suitable for both interior and exterior use.
Enhanced with UV absorbers.
Penetrates deep into sub-straight to form an invisible, non-film forming barrier that is resistant to oil, water, grease, coffee, cola, food stains, and solvent based markers.

COVERAGE: 800 to 4,000 sq. ft./gal. depending on the porosity of the surface being treated.

Description

ABR® Stone & Marble Guard is a penetrating, stain resistant sealer for polished and unpolished marble, granite, slate travertine, mosaics, onyx and sandstone. ABR® Stone & Marble Guard may also be applied to paint, caulk, grout, EFIS (exterior insulation and finish systems), Dryvit® or stucco and is suitable for both interior and exterior use. ABR® Stone & Marble Guard is enhanced with UV absorbers. ABR® Stone & Marble Guard penetrates deep into the substrate to form an invisible, non-film forming barrier that is resistant to oil, water, grease, coffee, cola, food stains and solvent based markers.

SURFACE PREPARATION:	A test area should be performed in an inconspicuous area prior to beginning overall project to determine precise procedure necessary for the most effective application. User shall determine the suitability of the product for intended its use and assumes all risk and liability whatsoever in connection therewith. Read product label, specification and MSD sheet before using ABR® Stone & Marble Guard. ABR® Stone & Marble Guard should not be diluted or thinned in any way. Surface must be clean, dry and free of previously applied sealers. Dirt, lime & hard water deposits, efflorescence, rust & other heavy dirt and grime can be removed with the appropriate ABRP, Inc. product. APPLICATION:	Apply ABR® Stone & Marble Guard liberally with clean white towel. Allow 5 minutes for sealer to completely penetrate surface. After 5 minutes have passed, wipe surface, redistributing excess sealer to areas that show faster penetration. Allow 5 more additional minutes for sealer to penetrate. Wipe off any excess sealer with a clean towel. Surface is sealed when sealer no longer shows penetration or darkening of the surface. Initial application temporarily darkens porous surfaces. Excess sealer residue (haze) can be removed by buffing. Finished area can be used within 2 hours. For best results area should be kept dry and free from stains for 72 hours. ABR® Stone & Marble Guard can be used as a grout release. Grout can stain many surfaces during application. Apply ABR® Stone & Marble Guard to all surfaces to make cleanup after grouting easier. Apply ABR® Stone & Marble Guard using a clean white towel. Do not over-saturate open grout joints. On dense, highly polished, glazed and porcelain surfaces allow ABR® Stone & Marble Guard to cure for 8 hours before continuing with the grouting procedure. AFTER GROUTING: Remove all grout residue from the surface with a clean sponge and water. Allow grout to cure per manufacturer’s specification. Apply ABR® Stone & Marble Guard to all grout with a brush. Wipe off excess sealer that gets on the surface with a clean towel before it dries. Do not allow ABR® Stone & Marble Guard to puddle or dry on pretreated areas. Excess sealer residue (haze) can be removed by buffing. If grout clean up is not carried out effectively, a supplementary clean-up may be necessary to remove lingering grout residue. After cleaning and when the area has completely dried, proceed with sealing.
